Joining a new GPT, regardless of its type, can be scary...
You don’t know the future. You may have no idea if it will turn out to be a good earner or a total loss. How long will it last? Why even bother joining? Isn’t it better to wait and give the new GPT time to prove itself? These are all good questions needing answers.

Perks come with new GPTs
Many New GPTs offer special bonuses to quicker grow their member base and catch up with the rest.
Among some of these special perks are...
Signup bonuses.
Discounted or free Upgraded memberships.
One time or special referral, earning and/or other type of contests.
Other specials.
And whatever else the owner(s) may fancy to come up with our imagination doesn’t allow!

Thoughts about upgraded memberships…
In many programs you can purchase upgrade membership which gives you free referrals. Upgrading in a new program to a premium membership that offers free referrals may gives you an advantage as compared to upgrading in a well established program, considering all other aspects equal.
Member count is insignificant which allows your referral URL to be displayed more often giving you a chance to earn more free referrals faster. (The applicable experience suggests upgrading merely for the sake of getting free referrals may not be as well worth it once member count is up.)
Caution note: Please, exercise an extreme caution when considering upgrading your standard free membership to a premium one. This may prove to be very dangerous since you most likely will not know what to expect.
It is easier to advertize new or least known GPTs
Usually, newly started programs are the least known. Not many have learned about them, hence there may be much less competition when promoting.
This will almost always yield better advertizing results, producing better cost effectiveness and generally faster signups to your potentially endless downline.
Thus, you acquire a clear advantage when promoting them.
Although, this may not sound so attractive to those who stay away from promoting their favorite GPT sites, it is one of the greatest reasons to get an early start and be ahead of everyone else.

Having a few extra good GPT services to earn more may prove helpful, if one of your programs becomes unstable or you looking to diversify your current mix of GPTs.
A new GPT site may help you diversify, if you only belong to the programs of the same type like PTR, PTC, PTSU, Survey communities.
Diversification will definitely help you gain a stable ground, if you participate only in a couple of sites by the same owner.
The danger is if that owner decides to quit GPT completely, he/she will probably sell your sites to other owner(s). This is
something you cannot control. Most likely, you will not know the new owner(s) and their abilities to run such sites may be poor.
Since chances are you will not know if/when it will happen it is logical to prepare for it ahead of time.
As you may foresee, on the other hand, there are dangers of signing up for new GPTS.
